Lexus LC Convertible review
The Lexus LC Convertible is a gorgeous looking car, with a fabulous interior. It’s not the fastest convertible, though and the infotainment system isn’t at all easy to use

Is the Lexus LC Convertible a good car?
The Lexus LC Convertible is a stylish, high-quality open-top with a hefty price tag that puts it alongside cars like the BMW M850i Convertible and Jaguar F-Type.
The Lexus LC Convertible is a little bit like a Giant Panda, because you’re not going to see many of them out in the wild, but you’ll be blown away if you do. You see, the LC Convertible looks simply stunning. The LC has cool-looking lights, wide rear wheel arches, and an imposing grille. It comes with 20-inch alloy wheels and wide side skirts that make it look as though it’s really hugging the road. It was partly down to its cool looks that the LC Convertible picked up the Best Convertible in our 2021 carwow Car of the Year awards.
The interior is just as cool, too. There are lots of interesting shapes and curves throughout the cabin and loads of intricate design features like the dagger-shaped door handles. It feels high-quality too, with lashings of leather and cool metal trims and buttons. Pay extra and you get softer leather seat trim with integrated neck heaters in the headrests. Just the thing for top-down driving on cold days.
You also get a 10-inch infotainment display, which looks great but is ultimately one of the most awkward systems to use on sale in any car today. Especially when driving.
Also awkward is getting into the LC’s rear seats. In fact, seat is a strong word – they’re really just ledges for putting bags on. Still, at least those in the front have all the space, seat adjustment and comfort you could hope for. Just don’t bring much along for that week away, because the boot is also fairly small.
A drop-dead gorgeous drop-top. Outside and in, the Lexus LC just oozes cool
Starting the LC’s V8 for the first time will soon take your mind off ‘trivial’ matters such as practicality, though, as it bellows out a bassy rumble that sounds like it belongs on the set of Days of Thunder.
With 0-62mph taking 4.7 seconds, the LC’s not quite race car quick, but it’s plenty quick enough and what the V8 lacks in outright performance it more than makes up for in character. It’s no Porsche 911 Cabriolet in the corners, nor as outright brash to listen to as an F-Type. But it strikes a solid middleground, thanks in part to the smooth 10-speed automatic gearbox, that is still hugely appealing,
The fabric roof of the Convertible can be opened in just 15 seconds at up to 31mph. A clear wind deflector behind the rear seats takes the sting out of roof-down buffeting, helping you to remain glamorous even at speed. You’ll be comfortable around town, too, because the LC’s suspension does a great job of soaking up bumps.
All-in-all, Lexus has produced one of the finest open-tops on sale with the LC Convertible, not to mention one of the finest Lexus models full stop.
