Everything about the Q8 is big, so even the vast 22-inch wheels look normal. Up front are HD Matrix LED lights, while inside there's quad-zone climate control, heated and electrically adjustable front seats with memory function and more HD screens than your local multiplex.

Range-topping Vorsprung models come with lots of kit borrowed from S-Line models – including LED headlights, parking sensors and a three-screen infotainment system with sat-nav and smartphone mirroring – but add some desirable extras. Instead of the S-Line’s 21-inch wheels, you get larger 22-inch items and the standard car’s leather seats have been replaced by some more supportive Super Sports items with Nappa leather upholstery. You also get heated rear seats, a Bang & Olufsen stereo and a sportier flat-bottomed steering wheel.
