Volkswagen Golf GTD Prices and Specifications

The GTD might have a punchy 182hp 2.0-litre diesel engine under the bonnet, but on the outside, it's very similar to a more sedate Golf. The visible differences include a style pack, the GTD badging, twin exhausts, and 18-inch alloy wheels among other things. There's also a roof-spoiler, LED daytime running lights and a rear diffuser.

On the inside, it gets grey checked cloth for the seats, which are height adjustable in the front. The steering wheel – also adjustable – is covered in leather and has audio controls on it as well. Climate control, a cooled glovebox, a heated rear windscreen, and under-seat drawers for the front seats make it to the list as well.

Its 3.5-inch TFT equipped infotainment system also boasts bluetooth connectivity and sat-nav. Apart from the safety systems (ABS, ESC, airbags), there's also an adaptive cruise control that would come useful during long motorway journeys. And since its a diesel, it also comes with a mis-fuel prevention device that restricts the entry of any non-diesel fuel nozzle into the filler. It's there to remind you that it's not the petrol-powered GTI!
