The 1 Series Sport sits above entry-level SE. It gets a few sporty touches such as black gloss and red interior trimmings, a multi-function steering wheel (so you can control the radio without removing your hands from the wheel), sports seats, 17-inch alloy wheels, a chrome exhaust pipe and run-flat tyres to keep you going in the event of a puncture.
Also includes selectable drive modes and as with all BMWs now, sat-nav is standard.

M Sport is the top trim level for the 1 Series. It gets sporty-looking 18-inch alloy wheels, more aggressive-looking body add-ons, lower (and firmer) sports suspension and sports seats.
The interior is dotted with M Sport logos, you get a sportier steering wheel than in lower trim levels and you get part-Alcantara seats, which are half-covered in a suede-like material to stop you sliding about in corners. As with all BMWs now, sat-nav is standard.
