BMW M3 interior

A fan of carbon fibre? You’ll be right at home in the rather spacious BMW M3. At least there’s no mistaking it for a regular 3 Series.

Style

The BMW M3 is a real departure from the regular 3 Series inside. Though the controls are laid out the same, carbon fibre is splashed literally everywhere — with plenty of M badges and branded stitching to match — which gives it a pretty special feel inside.

You get a thick-rimmed M steering wheel as well, plus racy-feeling sports seats as standard. You can move these up to carbon fibre buckets as well, if you want to make your M3 feel a little more like a racing car.

Four-wheel drive models look no different inside or out – there isn’t even any badging to signify the extra pair of driven wheels.

Infotainment

You get a fantastic infotainment system on a 10.1-inch screen in the BMW M3 for no extra cost. It’s intuitive and easy to use, plus there’s finally support for Android Auto in addition to Apple CarPlay. Both can be used wirelessly, as well, with a wireless phone charging tray helping you stay cable-free.

In front of you, there’s a 12.3-inch digital drivers display for key driving info, and this has some customisation to it too, including racy-looking M-specific displays. Audi makes more configurable and cooler displays, however.

The only difference between the infotainment in the four-wheel drive or rear-wheel drive version is an extra column on the drive mode setup screen. This allows you to switch between 4WD, 4WD Sport (which keeps all four wheels driven but slackens off the safety systems to let it move about a bit) and 2WD (which entirely disconnects the front driveshafts).
