Life

The Tiguan Life comes with a leather multifunctional steering wheel, velour seat trim, auto-dimming rearview mirror and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen. Analogue dials are in the instrument binnacle with a colour display in the middle for your trip computer and road sign recognition, and you also get three-zone climate control. 

Active

Although you get a slightly different seat upholstery, the Active spec isn’t too different from Life models. You get a heated leather steering wheel, chrome trim elements on the wheel and dash, brushed stainless steel pedals and special inserts that are unique to this trim level. Adaptive cruise control is also included for that extra level of comfort on long journeys.

Elegance

The main addition for this trim level is the digital driver’s display, which replaces the analogue instrument dials. You also get sport comfort seats with a different ArtVelour upholstery design, a tilting and sliding panoramic sunroof, and different trim pieces to help it look that little bit more special. 

R-Line

Inspired by the top of the range Tiguan R, the R-Line has a much sportier edge to its cabin design. So you get a black roof lining, a multifunction sports steering wheel that’s finished in leather, grey velour on the sport seats, front tread plates with R-Line logos, and decorative ‘Carbon Grey’ inserts on the dashboard and in the door trim. The panoramic sunroof is removed, though.

R

What you’ll first notice is how blue the Tiguan R is inside. The cloth seat trim comes with plenty of blue detailing, as does the gear lever, and the sports steering wheel with its touch-sensitive buttons. The ‘Carbon Grey’ dash inserts remain, as do the stainless steel pedals – but you also get floor mats with ‘R’ stitched in, just in case you weren’t already aware that this is a high-performance R model.
