Toyota Supra interior
The Toyota Supra’s interior feels distinctly BMW rather than Toyota. But, it’s a shame leather seats are reserved for high-spec Pro cars.
Style
Unlike its wild exterior, the Toyota Supra’s cabin goes for a simple rather than an overly striking approach. Everything’s laid out sensibly across its minimalist dashboard and sweeping centre console, while the dark roof lining focusses your attention on the view out through the Supra’s narrow letterbox windscreen.
Unlike in most Toyotas, you get a freestanding infotainment display with an intuitive swivel-wheel controller on the centre console. This part – along with many of the Supra’s buttons, indicator stalks and door handles – comes from the BMW Z4 and contributes to making the Supra’s cabin feel more special than anything else Toyota sells at the moment.
The neat, arrow-straight stitching on the soft-touch dashboard is another posh feature, as are the padded cushions on the doors and centre console that help stop you bruising your knees during particularly tight turns.
You’ll also appreciate the Supra’s sports seats when hurtling from one corner to another. They come with suede-like Alcantara trim as standard but get an even posher leather finish in high-spec Pro models.
The Toyota Supra’s interior borrows plenty of bits and pieces from BMW’s parts bin, but it’s all the better for it. Everything’s logically laid out and super-intuitive to use.

Infotainment
Every Toyota Supra comes with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system mounted high on the dashboard where it’s easy to glance at when you’re driving. The screen’s bright, the touch function is very responsive and the menu screens are almost exactly the same as those in many BMWs, so they’re very easy to navigate through.
It’s a doddle to input an address into the standard sat-nav using the on-screen keyboard and it calculates routes quickly and displays directions on bright, easy-to-read maps.
The Toyota Supra also displays directions on an additional screen in front of the steering wheel. This features a large central rev-counter flanked by a digital speedometer on the left and sat-nav directions and various vehicle information readouts on the right. It looks sportier than the plain widescreen with vertical readouts you get in the BMW Z4 and it’s a little easier to read on the move.
Unfortunately, while you can mirror an iPhone’s navigation and music-streaming apps on the Toyota Supra’s infotainment screens, you can’t do the same with Android phones. You do at least get a Bluetooth connection so you can play music from your phone through the Supra’s 10-speaker stereo. Pay extra for a Pro model and you get a beefier 12-speaker JBL stereo, but it doesn’t sound quite as good as the optional Harman Kardon unit you can get in the BMW Z4.
