The Ford Fiesta ST’s interior is sporty looking and logically laid out, but there are small hot hatches that feel like they’re better quality inside.
Style
The old Ford Fiesta ST was starting to look a little long in the tooth inside by the end of its life. This latest model improves things considerably, and looks and feels better quality than a Suzuki Swift Sport. That said, a VW Polo GTI feels far plusher than both.
Still, the Fiesta ST has enough soft-touch plastics, gloss-black plastic and nicely damped switches to feel agreeable inside, while its sporty touches help lift it a little over standard Fiestas. Things like its flat-bottomed steering wheel, figure-hugging Recaro sports seats, sports pedals and unique gear knob all help it feel that bit more special.

Infotainment
Every Ford Fiesta ST gets an 8-inch screen, with smartphone mirroring systems Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. Built-in sat-nav also comes as standard, although the app on your phone will be easier to use and have more up-to-date travel information.
The system’s colourful screen is brighter than those fitted to other cars and its clear display makes directions easy to follow. Its menus are laid out intuitively, although it does without the handy buttons that help you quickly navigate from menu to menu in a VW Polo GTI. Still, sticking in a postcode or waypoint doesn’t require too much brainpower.
Every Ford Fiesta ST comes with a punchy B&O stereo. It has eight speakers (including a subwoofer in the boot) and a mammoth 675W output and offers the kind of sound quality you might expect from a luxury saloon.
